RULE CHANGES FOR 2010 HANDBOOK

1. Change Rule 205 (d) to allow all Regional winners to select their two extra players from any team in their regions, and for each region with a World Series host, the host will have the first two choices or priority.

2. Change Rule 1305 (Clemente) - In AABC tournament play, the distance between the bases shall be 60 feet, and the pitching distance shall be 40 feet. (Distance between bases was changed from 50 feet to 60 feet).

3. Change Rule 105 (a) to allow Stan Musial division only to drop players from their official roster and fill them with the approved draft picks at any time prior to advancing to the Regional and World Series.

4. Add under Rule 219 Protests: A protest filed on a game ending play must be filed within 30 minutes of the official ending of the game. Official Rule of Major League Baseball, Rule 4.19 states that it may be filed until 12 noon the following day.

5. Rule 218 - Change from the "contest" to the "game" in the last sentence.

6. Rule 221 (g) - Change from 2 5/8" back to 2 3/4".

7. Rule 106 (d) - Re-word as follows: Have played in at least three (3) regularly scheduled league games for his team (post season playoffs and tournaments do not count in this total) except for any player who represents the AABC in the Tournament of the Stars and the USA Junior National Team. A player who represents the AABC in the Tournament of the Stars and USA Junior National Trials will be credited with the three (3) games needed for eligibility for Tournament play.

8. Make all single age World Series open tournament. Teams qualify by winning a qualifying AABC approved qualifying tournament. Entry fees may be charged with approval of the National Office.

9. The official AABC logo must appear on the right side of every player and coaches baseball hat for National Competition.

10. For the National Youth Championships, the AABC World Series Championship team may select players from their AABC World Series rosters, as long as they do not exceed the 20 player roster limit.

11. Increase National dues 101 (a) as follows: Per state/association registered teams of the previous year, the following rates will apply.

1 - 99 Teams $40

100 - 149 Teams $35

150 + $30

NEW RULES FOR 2010

1.  In the event a team which plays in more than one League qualifies for a Tournament from more than one League, it must declare for which League it will compete in Tournament play. This declaration must be made June 1st of the current year.

2.  In the event a team plays in more than one League and does not qualify for Tournament play from any such League, priority for drafting players listed on that team’s roster shall be given to teams in the League which that team declared it would compete for in Tournament play.
