The Elmira boys soccer team earned its first victory Thursday afternoon when Curtis Grant scored off a cross from Caleb Johnson with 4.7 seconds remaining in a 3-2 win over Binghamton in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference game at Elmira Free Academy.
"It's exciting that we got the first win in Elmira boys soccer history," Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. "Hopefully, we can take this momentum and continue to improve as a team throughout the rest of the season."
Alex Varkatzas and Alex Tuyul scored the other goals for Elmira (1-4).

Elmira 3, Binghamton 2: Three players scored goals for host Elmira as balanced scoring distribution turned out to be the key.
Binghamton's goals were scored by Sead Ahmetovic and Elmedim Begic.
