Zach Kollar and Mark Lee scored first-half goals for Maine-Endwell in a 2-0 victory over visiting Elmira on Tuesday in Southern Tier Athletic Conference boys soccer action.

Matt Swartz assisted on both goals to help M-E improve to 4-0.

Corey Swarthout made five saves for Elmira (1-5).

Maine-Endwell boys extend soccer shutout string

Maine-Endwell remained undefeated after Zach Kollar and Mark Lee capitalized on direct-kick set-ups by Matt Swartz for a 2-0 Southern Tier Athletic Conference win over visiting Elmira on Tuesday.

Swartz took a direct kick that Kollar headed past the goalie to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead about seven minutes in. Swartz took another direct kick with five minutes left in the half, which Lee directed into the net with a header.

The Spartans' Luke Osovski fueled Maine-Endwell's defense by shutting down one of Elmira's leading scorers, Alex Varkatzas.

"We have a 4-0 record now and still haven't let up a goal," Spartans coach Chris Riley said.

Maine-Endwell Scoring - Kollar (1-0), Lee (1-0), Swartz (0-2)

Shots/Corners - Maine-Endwell (7-4), Elmira (4-4)

Saves - Maine-Endwell (Haines - 4), Elmira (Swarthout - 5)
