EFA 4, Ithaca 2: Elmira Free Academy scored four goals over a span of less than 20 minutes in the second half to rally for a Southern Tier Athletic Conference win over Ithaca after trailing 2-0 at halftime.

Kevyn Rustici got the Blue Devils (2-1, 2-1) on the board with a goal off a penalty kick with about 30 minutes left. He scored the tying goal off a header about 10 minutes later.

Frankie Mannino then put EFA ahead with about 15 minutes left when he drilled the ball into the corner from the top of the 18-yard line.

Freshman Nick Lian closed the EFA scoring run by scoring his second goal of the season off a header with about 12 minutes left.

"We didn't play with the amount of passion needed in the first 45 minutes," EFA coach Derek Hamilton said. "Once we got the penalty kick our spirits picked up. Psychologically, a 2-1 deficit is so much smaller than a 2-0 deficit. We just started picking up the momentum, moving the ball like we can and finished when given the opportunities."

The victory over Ithaca was the first since Elmira Free Academy joined the STAC nine seasons ago.

EFA Scoring - Rustici (2-1), Mannino (1-0), Lian (1-0), Holden (0-1)

Ithaca Scoring - Eliason (1-0), Miller (1-0)

Shots/Corners - EFA (9-4), Ithaca (8-2)

Saves - B. McGinnis (6), Albanese (6)
