Learned, Bordinger Will Continue Soccer Careers at Keuka College; Sampsell To Walk-on At St. Bonaventure

Forward Carl Learned and defender Ryan Bordinger have been accepted to Keuka College in Penn Yan, New York and will continue thier fine soccer careers playing for the Green Storm. Learned finished the 2006 EFA season with 5 goals and 5 assists in 19 games played for the Blue Devils. He was named to the All-STAC West Division Team as well as the STAC Senior Showcase. Carl's great speed provided EFA with numerous scoring opportunities throughout his time with the Blue Devils and was named captain his Senior season. Bordinger anchored a defensive core for the Blue Devils. Ryan played center back for EFA and put a plug in many scoring opportunities for the opposition. Ryan's led a defense that recorded 5 shutouts throughout the course of the season including a 1-0 win over Owego to earn EFA's first Class "A", Sectional Title in 17 years. Ryan also contributed 2 assists to the scoring column. Bordinger was named to the All-STAC West Division Team as well as to the STAC Senior Showcase. Bordinger was a captain his senior season. Tyler Sampsell will attempt to walk-on to the University of St. Bonaventure's soccer team as he has recieved an academic scholorship to attend the Division I university. Tyler was also a captain his senior year at Elmira Free Academy as he played in all 19 games at the central midfield position. Tyler tallied 3 goals and 3 assists on the season and was a defensive plug in the center of the field. These three players will be greatly missed from the EFA Soccer family; however, we wish them the best of luck throughout the rest of thier chosen careers. Good luck boys!!image
