Bulls stay undefeated!
On Saturday October 7th 2006 the WSA Red Bulls faced a WSA Blast team hungry for a win. The game started off at a feverish pitch with both teams playing an aggressive and physical game. For the fist 15 minutes of the first half the Blast controlled the game attacking the Bull's side of the field and taking numerous shots on goal. The WSA bulls defense held with a combination of Matt Fasset and Brady Seitz blocks. One additional reason the Bulls held was Midfielder Austin Layne who selfishly put his body on the line allowing the Bulls to match the Blast's aggressive offensive and with that aggressive game allowed the Bulls to control of the game. Soon after the Bulls were able to break the Blast's line of defense and take numerous shots on goals. Because of the Bulls play Michael Lee was able to score a goal. Five minutes later the Blast staged an attack on the Bull's goal and scored while Goalie Matt Fasset was injured and needed to be replaced by Goalie Alex Steele. The half ended in a 1 to 1 tie.

The 2nd half started with the same physical and aggressive play both teams showed in the first half.  The game continued with the Bulls taking numerous shots on goal but coming up short.  Matt Fasset and Austin Layne also re-entered the game playing hurt. Matt continued his stellar Goal play and had 6 blocks. Austin played yet another aggressive Midfield. The game ended in a 1 to 1 tie with the Blast being the strongest team played yet.

Bulls Win 5th Game!
On Saturday October 14th the WSA Bulls faced the WSA Thunder. The game began with a Bulls Kick-off. The Bulls and Thunder traded field advantage for the first 10 minutes of the half. Then the Bulls took control of the game. One of the Keys to the Bull’s success was Mid-fielder Josh Singer. Because of Josh’s play Forward Michael Lee was able to drive the middle and score the 1st of 3 Bulls goals. Soon after the first goal Haelee Pettingill with an assist by Wing Kevyn Selby scored the Bulls 2nd goal. The half ended with an unassisted Amber Johnson Goal. The second half began and the Thunder ready to get back in the game. With aggressive and skilled play the Thunder was able to break the Bulls front Line of defense but not the second line. The remainder of the half continued with neither team being able to gain position. The game then ended with the Bull’s first shutout of the season.

Bulls come up short!
On Saturday October 14th the WSA Bulls played their second of two games against the WSA Comets, who was also playing a second game. The game started with both teams playing an aggressive but sportsman like game. The game continued with both teams gaining and loosing advantage. After the first 10 minutes the Comets were able to break the Bulls defense and drive to the Goal with a score, giving the comets a 1 to 0 advantage over the Bulls. The Bulls kicked off and the game continued with both teams gaining and loosing advantage. With 10 minutes left in the 1st half the Bulls made a surge on the Comets goal and with an assisting pass by Kyle Selby, Michael Lee scored, tying the game 1 to 1. The half soon ended. The second half started out with both teams exchanging advantage. After approximately 15 minutes the Comets again penetrated the Bulls’ defense and scored on goal. Making the score Comets 2 – Bulls 1. The Comets soon after went into a prevent defense mode, loading the penalty box with defenders. With the hard work of Megan Ward the Bulls had the ball most of the second half. However the Bulls were not able to penetrate the Comets’ defense. With minutes remaining Alex Steele from the Bulls had two strong shots on goal but was not able to score.

Bulls Loose a Heartbreaker!
On Saturday October 21st the WSA Red Bulls played their second game of the season against the WSA Blast. Like their game two weeks prior the game was a see saw battle with both teams gaining advantage. The first half began with both teams playing an aggressive game. At about 15 minutes into the first half the WSA Blast drove past the Bulls’ defense and scored on a one on one shot with the Bulls’ goalie Matt Fassett, giving the Blast a 1 to 0 advantage. The Bulls soon kicked off and with a combination of good passing and player placement scored the Bulls’ 1st goal making the game a 1 to 1 tie. The half ended. The second half again like the previous half and the b=game before started out at a feverish pitch. Again, like the 1st half the Blast drove on goal and scored their second goal of the game giving the Blast a 2 to 1 advantage. The Bulls kicked off and soon after lost position on the ball. However, with aggressive defensive and Mid-Field play Erin Ward and Megan Stricker were able to keep the Blast in check the majority of the game. Numerous times throughout the game the Blast were able to break the Bulls’ defense. However, with superior Goal play Mat Fasset was able to fend off the Blast’s shots on goal and give the Bulls a chance to tie or beat the Blast. Unfortunately the Bulls were not able to take advantage of Matt’s play and the game ended in another 2 to 1 heartbreaker.
