13 Year Old All Stars

The Kennewick Babe Ruth 13 Year Old All Star Team started off their District Tournament with a 12-2 win over Asotin County. Sid and Gregg each pitched 3 solid innings. Josh and Emilo each had 3 hits. Gregg, KC and Mike each had 2 singles. Sid and Matt added a double, and Tyler added a single. Next game is July 8th at 4pm vs Pasco. Way to start the tournament strong! Kennewick dropped a close game, 3-1, to Pasco. There were plenty of opportunities throughout the game, but Kennewick just couldn't come up with the clutch base hit. With the loss, Kennewick drops to the loser's bracket and plays a loser out game against Blue Mountain, Saturday at 10am. Kennewick bounced back in the loser's bracket with a big 17-3 win over Blue Mountain. Gregg (2 innings), Jeff (2 innings) and Matt (1 inning) combined to give up only 3 runs. Offensively, Emilo and Jeff each had 3 hits. Gregg, Sid, and AZ each added 2 hits. Tyler, Matt, Josh, Justin, Mike and KC each contributed with a base hit. Way to bounce back and get the bats going! Next game is at 7:00 tonight. The Kennewick 13's played another strong game with 14-4 win over Pullman. James and Matt both threw 2 shutout innings. Offensively, James tore it up with 4 hits. Tyler added 3 hits. Matt had 2 hits, including a stand up inside the park homerun. AZ, Gregg, Josh, Sid and Justin each contributed offensively with a base hit. Next game is Sunday morning at 10am vs Richland. The Kennewick 13's advance to the finals with a 6-4 win over Richland. James, Gregg and Matt combined to limit Richland to 4 runs while striking out 7 hitters. Matt had 2 singles in the game. Nate, Tyler, Josh, Sid, Emilo, AZ and KC each had a single. Up next, Pasco at 1pm. The Kennewick 13's finished up the season with a 6-3 loss to Pasco. Kennewick showed great heart battling all the way back in the loser's bracket to reach the finals. With the win, the Pasco 13's advance to the Babe Ruth State Tournament.
