Hello Skiers! First, I would like to congratulate all who skied the Duluth East Invitational Relay Saturday. Everyone skied very well and we had very good results. Second, I would like to thank all the parents that helped with the race on Saturday. Without the registration workers, timer button pushers, number writers, course resetter uppers, bus parkers, bib takers, course directors, skier helper, runners, ... well you get the picture ...It takes a lot of parents to put on a race. I thank you all! We, yes that is all of you, managed to pull off a race of about 250 skiers with no glitches. Now for what is happening. The next race is Ely on Saturday, January 3. It will be a 4 x 3.2 km relay race. The first two legs classic and the last two legs skate. For JV and Jr High each skier will ski one leg. For Varsity each skier will ski a classic and a skate leg. So sign up by Friday December 26 at Snowflake or send us an e-mail. We need to know if you want to ski classic or skate and if you want to be in the Jr. High division. Today, Monday Dec. 22 Practice 4:15 at Snowflake. It is another Mentor Monday. Get your mentor groups together and have a wonderful ski. Workout: Black (B) 60 min CP, Gray (G) 45 min CP, Red (R) 25 min CP Tuesday, Dec 23 Practice 4:15 at Snowflake. Workout: B 90 min with 6 x 5 min at level 3, G 60 min with 4 x 5 min at level 3, R 45 min with 2 x 5 min at level 3 Wednesday, Dec 24 Practice 10:00 a.m. at Snowflake. We will work on technique - check the phone line for skate or classic Workout: B 60 min CP, G 45 min CP, R 25 min CP Thursday, Dec. 25 Merry Christmas Go have lots of fun with your family and friends and if you end up on the ski trails it can't get much better than that. Friday, Dec. 26 Practice on your own. Workout: B 90 min with 3 x 4 x 15 sec hill sprints, G 60 min with 2 x 3 x 15 sec hill sprints, R 45 min with 3 x 15 sec hill sprints. Remember have 5 min of CP skiing between sprints. Saturday, Dec 27 Practice on your own. Workout: B 60 min CP, G Off, R Off Sunday, Dec 28 Practice on your own. Workout: B 75 min CP, G 45 Min CP, R Off Monday, Dec 29 Leave for Telemark Practice on your own. Workout B 30 min CP, G 30 min CP, R 20 min CP Tuesday, Dec. 30 Practice on your own. Workout B 60 min CP, G 40 min CP, R 35 min CP Wednesday, Dec 31 Practice on your own. Workout B 30 min CP, G 30 min CP, R 20 min CP Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 New Years Day Practice on your own. Workout B 60 min CP, G 40 min CP, R 35 min CP Friday, Jan 2 Practice at 10:00 a.m. at Snowflake Ski waxing for race after practice. Workout: B 30 min with 5 x 100 meter speeds, G 30 min with 5 x 100 meter speeds, R 25 min with 5 x 100 meter speeds Saturday, Jan 3 Race at Ely. Bus leaves East High School at 7:00 a.m. Races start at 11:00 Bring a lunch and we will ski after the races and stop in Ely for dinner. Remember to sign up for the ELY RACE by Friday, December 26!
