Junior Varsity Championships

Bib Pick-up 4:00 p.m.
Coaches Meeting 4:30 p.m.
Race Start time 5:00 p.m.
Format:
5 km freestyle race on lighted trails. This race is open to any skier not skiing in the Charlie Banks Relay or the State Meet

East Skiers sign-up at Snowflake or here by the end of practice on Friday, February 14, 2005

THIS RACE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A FREESTYLE RACE.
We are not able to set a track because of the warm weather last week. We can grind the ice up to make skating OK. Those skiers that only classic can still race classic but there will not be a good track. We will still classic wax skis for those that need it.

First, a BIG THANKS to all the parents that helped with the Arrowhead Championships. It was a great day for being out side and helping. I know the racers would have liked it to be a little colder.
This week starts out with the Junior High Championships. They will be held at Snowflake with racing beginning at 5:00. Skiers in the middle schools should be to Snowflake by 3:30 - earlier if possible. East 9th graders - get there as soon as possible. It is a classic race so we will have to kick wax skis. Make sure you are signed up by Friday, Feb. 4. If you know of any 5th and 6th graders that would like to ski they are very welcome. Have them register at Snowflake on Monday between 3:30 and 4:00. The race is a 2.5 km classic race on the lighted trail. We could use some help from parents for timing, bib collection/handout etc.
Thursday is the Section 7 Meet at Giants Ridge. Racing starts at 10:00. The section team will be announced on Monday. We need to "provide" one parent volunteer to help Dave Johnson with the race. Let us know if you can help.
Friday, Feb. 11 will be the last day to sign up for the JV Champs also held at Snowflake. It will be 5 km freestyle race on Monday, Feb. 14 starting at 5:00.
