No, thats not a typo, "Squints" as he is so lovingly nicknamed, went yard on Friday night to help his team to a 6-2 victory over the Dodgers.This game had the makings have a tight ball game with the Mets holding a slim lead into the 3rd. "The Mop" had a two out single to plate two runners, and "Bull" battled long enough for Matt to come all the way around to score on a passed ball. With one guy on, "Squints", who promised me he was going to hit one out, delivered in a big way. Congratulations to Hutch and all the Mets. I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure all will agree, you guys are fun to watch....
Our Mets are hanging on to a 1 1/2 game lead thanks to some great defense last night. I thought it over last night, and maybe ugly win wasn't the words that should have come out. A win is a win, regardless of how we accomplish it. Coach Shane made the comment before that good teams find ways to win ball games, and we did just that. We will continue to work hard at practices and take one game at a time. Great Job Mets!!
