BULLDOG ATHLETIC CLUB

The Bulldog 16U team opened their season with two wins on Sunday May 2nd  winning 7 - 5 over Baden and 6 - 0 over the Black Sox.   

In the opener RHP Nick Minteer got the win going 5 innings giving up only 2 earned runs.  Minteer helped his own cause with a 2 run homer in the 3^rd inning.

The Bulldogs scored in the 1^st inning as center fielder Connor Cloyd led off with a single, stole second base and scored on a single from second baseman Trevor Baldwin who was 2-2 with a BB in the game. Catcher Joe Greaney threw out the only stolen base attempt and caught a flawless game.  Greaney added two runs in the 2^nd inning going deep following a 2 out single by third baseman Doug Jones.  LHP Carl Derline threw the last two innings as the Bulldogs held off a late rally for the win.   

In the nightcap, RHP Doug Jones got the win throwing 4innings with no ER.  In relief Aaron Wagner continued to hold the Black Sox scoreless and Trevor Baldwin closed the last inning preserving the 6-0 shut out. 

Leading the Bulldog offense was second baseman Trevor Baldwin going 3 for 3 in the game and  5 for 6 on the night and Connor Cloyd, 2 for 3 in the game and 5 for 7 on the night.  Designated hitter Joe Greaney went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles on the game. 

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday at 6:00 PM against the visiting YBC Cagers from Yelm, WA.
