All four Canton Lion football teams played hard nosed football against the Plymouth Canton Steelers in the annual Black and Blue games.  The ties by the Freshmen and Varsity along with the JV victory brought the trophy back to the Canton Lions.

The Canton Lions and Plymouth Canton Steelers Varsity teams fought to a 0-0 tie.  With no overtime in the WSJFL (Western Suburban Junior Football League) regular season, the two teams will be able to determine the winner in next weeks playoff game when they face off against each other.  Both teams had difficulty moving the ball against stingy defenses.  Stand outs for the Lions defense were Clay Behrman, DJ McMillian, William Askew, and Corey Watkins.

The Lions JV squad overpowered the Plymouth Steelers 27-0 to complete a perfect regular season 8-0.  Offensively touchdowns were scored by Malcolm Hollingsworth  and Kenneth Arnold.  Lucas Bunting added a PAT kick, and an extra point was added on a Devin Slominski to Scott Gring pass.  Strong offensive performances were also contributed by Jordan Ciciotti, Luke Denzer, Kyle Durham, Benjamin Slater, Danny Stropes, Daniel Tidwell, and Travis McCall.  Defensively, the shutout was preserved by outstanding play from Nathan Emminger, Collin Hall, Westen Price, Alex Smith, Cody Sirls, Jamarl Eiland, Brandon Lee, and Daniel Jipping.

The Lions Freshmen Team completed their regular season with a hard fought 12-12 tie against the Plymouth Canton Steelers. The Lions were able to get on the scoreboard first when Antonio Dumas hit Luke Edwards with a 27 yard touchdown pass. Following two Steelers touchdowns, the Lions were able to mount a successful scoring drive capped off by a 2 yard plunge by Chuckie Turfe. The Lions defense stopped the Steelers on their final possession, but were unable to move the ball against a stingy defense and the game ended tied. The Lions received excellent defensive play from Kyle Murray, Jake Stropes, Shane Raymond, and Allante' Wheeler.

The Lions Jr. Freshman received strong defensive play by Guido Constantino, Ray Bunting, Connor Danaher, Jacob Miller, and Sean Lee.  The offense was paced by the passing of Kyle Burnette, two long touchdown runs by Jason Arnold, and great blocking from Jeffrey Johnson, Kyle Amick, Ethan Balogh, Mason Kopchia, and Spencer Brown.
