Lions Crush Meteors for 3rd Consecutive Super Bowl Win

 The Canton Lions Freshmen football team won their third consecutive Super Bowl by defeating the Westland Meteors 31-13.  The win extended the Lions winning streak to 25 games. 
     The Lions opened the scoring in the first quarter when Braden Price ran 29 yards around right end to take a 6-0 lead.  The Lions scored twice in the final minute of the second quarter to take a 19-0 halftime lead.  Jordan Smith scored from 5 yards out with 56 seconds remaining in the half.  Braden Price then recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and two plays later Price ran 39 yards off left tackle for the Lions third touchdown.       
     The Metors received the second half kickoff and scored on their first possession cutting the Lions lead to 19-6.  Jordan Smith scored his second touchdown of the day early in the fourth quarter.  The Meteors scored again cutting the Lions lead to 25-13.  The Lions Matthew Harris closed out the scoring with a five yard scamper for the final margin of victory.
     The Lions defense was led by Corey Watkins, Josh Nolen, Omar Kandah, and Scott Gring.  The Lions also received strong offensive play from Josh Peterson, Bobby Riche, William Askew, Kyle Dexter, Michael Boes, Brandon Lee and Nathan Emminger.
