The Al THomas A's struggled to find the right mix of talent and leadership throughout the first half of the season. With so many new faces, the first month or so was spent trying players at different positions. Experimentation came at a price, though, as the A's soon found themselves at the basement of the division at 4-8-1. As the players familiarized themselves with one another, the team's attitude improved, and the A's went on to win 12 of their last 18 games to grab the last playoff spot. The playoffs proved to be painfull as the clun ran into 3-time defending juggernaut Somerville, who neatly dispatched the A's in 3 games. The series loss was tough, but many members of the team looked back on the great second half of the season, and looked forward to the future with sincere optimism.
