HHS DEFEATS FOLEY, AL 5-1

Andrew Larson drove in the winning run to give Commandos the lead in the sixth inning, as the Commandos hung on to beat Foley 5-1 on Tuesday.

With the score tied at one, Andrew Larson came to the plate and singled, bringing home AJ Hart.

 

Will Wacaser's nine strikeouts were enough to push HHS past Foley . Wacaser allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks over 6 1/3 innings. Andrew Dorris came on in the 7th to pick up his first save of the year.

HHS DEFEATS MT JULIET 5-0

THe Commandos improved to 11-3 and 2-1 in District 9AAA while getting their first win over Mt Juliet since 2009 at Drakes Creek park on Tuesday night.

 

Commandos' Will Wacaser kept Mount Juliet off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the bump. He pitched a shutout, scattering four hits and striking out five Golden Bears. 

The lead stayed with the Commandos after the third, when Brett Coker got HHS on the board with a two-out single scoring Andrew Larson who had been hit by a pitch.

Coker delivered another two-out single in the 5th to give HHS a 2-0 lead. 

HHS put the game away with three runs in the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when Brandon Fuller singled, bringing home Carter Billingsley for a 3-0 lead.  Jon Swindle drove in pinch runner Gabe Dalton with a squeeze bunt and the 5th run scored on an error to give HHS its final lead of 5-0.

HHS DEFEATS ANTIOCH 10-0

The Commandos beat Antioch on Wednesday 10-0 at Drakes Creek Park in five innings.

HHS was led by a flawless day at the dish by Ian MacMaster, who went 2-2 against Antioch 's pitching.  

Antioch couldn't get anything going so long as Brandon Fuller was on the hill. Fuller gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work.

HHS DEFEATS LEBANON 3-1

Aaron Weakley went 2-3, helping The Commandos to a 3-1 victory over Lebanon Blue Devils on Wednesday at Lebanon High.

He singled in the fourth and sixth innings with two outs to drive in two runs. 

 

The Commandos relied on Cameron Hansen to eat up innings en route to the win. Hansen pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and six walks while striking out five.

The lead stayed with Commandos after the fifth, when it scored one run on an RBI single by Brett Coker. With the win HHS improves to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in District 9AAA.

HHS DEFEATS ALEXANDRIA, AL 8-2

HHS jumped out to an early lead on Alexandria and captured an 8-2 victory on Wednesday at Gulf Shores Park.

With five runs in the first three innings, Commandos left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Cooper Brenning, an RBI single by Ian MacMaster, and an RBI single by Jon Swindle during the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Andrew Larson in the second inning supplied the early offense for Commandos.

 

The Commandos were led by a flawless day at the dish by Swindle, who went 4-4 against Alexandria 's pitching.

 

Brandon Fuller recorded the win for Commandos. He allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered two hits. Matt Nicoll and Ian MacMaster finished up the game on the mound for HHS.
