HHS LOSES TO MT JULIET 1-0

Posted by Andy Gilley on Apr 17 2018 at 05:00PM PDT

The Commandos were defeated by the Golden Bears 1-0 in a classic pitchers dual between Mt Juliet's Ethan Smith and Hendersonville Hayden Mullins.

Mt Juliet scored the lone run of the game on a wild pitch in the 4th inning.

HHS threatened in the 4th as Brett Coker and Harrison Williams had back to back singles with one out, but the Commandos were unable to get a run across.

Smith, for Mt Juliet struck out 9 batters in 5 innings of work, allowing just the two hits while registering 94 on the radar gun.

Mullins struck out 11 in his six innings of work for the Commandos allowing 3 hits and coming in at 93.

It was a tremendous high school baseball game between two of the best teams in the state.  With the loss HHS drops to 18-4 overall and 7-2 in District 9AAA.

The two teams will be back in action against one another again Wednesday night at Drakes Creek Park at 7:00.
