HHS DEFEATS TULLAHOMA 2-1

The Commandos honored their two seniors Matt Nicoll and Andrew Dorris and picked up a win over Tullahoma on Monday night at Drakes Creek Park. 

The Commandos used four pitchers on the night.  Hayden Mullins and Cameron Hansen combined for the games first five innings as the duo allowed no hits and struck out 6.  Eric Altizer allowed a run in the sixth but picked up the win and Kobe Carter came on in the 7th to retire the side in order and pick up his 6th save of the year.

With the game scoreless in the bottom of the third HHS took a 1-0 lead when Austin Mays and Harrison Williams hit back to back doubles.

Tullahoma tied the game in the top of the sixth with their first two hits of the game to make the score 1-1.

In the bottom of the sixth HHS regained the lead when Hayden Layne reached on an error, moved to second on a balk and scored on another Wildcat error to make the score 2-1.

Carter got two groundouts and a strikeout to end the game for HHS in the seventh.

With the win HHS improves to 19-8 overall and will next play at Goodpasture on Tuesday afternoon.
