HHS DEFEATS FRIENDSHIP CHRISTIAN 7-2

Posted by Andy Gilley on Apr 27 2017 at 05:00PM PDT

HHS and Friendship Christian faced off for the third time in as many weeks on Thursday night with the Commandos coming out on top 7-2.

Chase Nelson picked up his third win of the year tossing six innings, allowing only 1 run, which was unearned.  The sophomore struck out 8 and gave up only 1 hit.

HHS scored four runs in the bottom of the second without the benefit of a hit as several Friendship errors led to the four runs.  The Commandos would tack on three more in the top of the fourth as Brett Coker, Austin Mays and Hayden Layne all had singles with two outs.

Andrew Dorris pitched the last inning for HHS recording a strikeout in his inning of work.

With the win HHS improves to 18-7 overall.

The Commandos will next play at Murfreesboro Oakland on Saturday at 1:00.
