.Tracking the progress of a couple former York Simcoe players who once played on the diamonds in Barrie and have recently made news on a larger scale:

 George Kottaras: (Born 1983) A former Markham Mariner is now on the active roster of the Boston Red Sox

 Jake Eliopoulos: (Born 1991) A former Newmarket Hawk was recently drafted #68 by the Blue Jays directly out of high school. There were a total of 14 players who came up through Ontario Baseball drafted, Eliopoulos was the highest selection
