South Texas Walking Club

Friday, December 20th and Saturday, December 21st, 2002 in Pharr, Texas. The people of Pharr who lined the streets were treated with a great show this Saturday morning. The first thing that went off, at 8am was the 5km walk. Unlike last year, there was no rain, and the fans and participants were greatful for that. Tim Seaman won in a new American Record time of 19:50, and also a new course record breaking that of Sean Albert (21:30) from the 2001 edition of this great event, but the real story was all of the great performances of the kids who walked a 1-mile on Friday night to try and qualify for the Indoor Scholastic Nationals, and then on Saturday came back and walked a great 5km race.
