River City Lightning

This is the home page for the River City Lightning softball team. The original team was formed in August 2001 in O'Fallon, Missouri and have been registered with the ASA, NSA, USSSA, and AFA. In 2007 a new first year 10U team has been formed and will continue in the same spirit has the original team.

The initial schedule for the July 11-12 Jackson tournament is as follows:

 Pool Play:

     Saturday, July 11     1:00 PM      Field #3 

     Saturday, July 11     5:00 PM     Field #3 

     Saturday, July 11     6:20 PM     Field #3

The results of these games will determine when our next game will be.  This is a five game minimum tournament so we will have at least two more games.

The schedule for the May 2-3 USSSA tournament has been added to the Schedules page.  In Summary, this is a 5-game format with 3 pool play games starting on Saturday morning transitioning to bracket play beginning late Saturday and continuing into Sunday.  The first three pool play games will be play on Saturday at the following times:

     9:30 am   Wiethaupt Field 10

     12:30 pm   Wiethaupt Field 10

     3:30 pm   Wiethaupt Field 10

Bracket play may begin as early as 8:00 pm on Saturday.

The Lightning will have indoor practices from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday nights at Fort Zumwalt South Middle School.
