2001 Baseball Rules continued

2-28-3 time of the pitch in the windup & set position has been clarified. After coming to a legal pitching position, any movement by the pitcher that commits him to pitch shall constitute "time of the pitch". 4-1-3a the umpire-in-chief shall receive verification from both coaches tht all participants are properly equipped & emphasize to the coaches & captains that all partciipants are expected to exhibit good sporting behavior throughout the game(s). 6-1-2 the pitcher assumes the windup position when his hands are together in front of his body, or both hands are at his side, or either hand is in front of his body & the other hand is at his side. 6-1-3 Replace the position of the pitcher's glove in the set position. The new rule reads "He shall come to a complete & discernible stop (a change of direction is not considered and acceptable stop) with the ball in both hands in front of the body & his glove at or below his chin."
