1-1-5 By state association adoption, to allow for special occasions, commemorative or memorial patches, that will be uniformly placed, not to exceed 2 1/4 sq. in., to be worn on jerseys in an appropriate & dignified manner without compromising the integrity of the uniform. 1-1-5 Beginning January 1, 2003 the catcher's helmet and mask combination shall meet the NOCSAE standard. 1-3-5 The diameter at the tickest part of the bat should be no greater than 2 5/8", the bat shall not weigh, numerically, more than three oz. less than the lenght of the bat. (e.e., a 33-inch-long bat cannot weigh less than 30 ounces.) 1-3-5 Bats that are altered, that deface the ball, or that do not meet the rule specifications are illegal. Bats that are broken, cracked or dented shall be removed upon discovery without penalty.
