NKOA Spring Training & Development Day 2006

Posted by Jon Dawson on Jan 29 2006 at 04:00PM PST
The 3rd Annual Northern Kentucky Spring Training and Development Day for high school football officials is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Simon Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky. The day long clinic begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. The cost of the program which covers materials and favors will be $15. A reception, sponsored by the law firm of Butkovich, Crosthwaite, and Gast, will be held at Terri’s Sports Bar on Dixie Highway in Fort Wright on Friday evening, March 10th. A block of rooms is being reserved at a Ramada Inn next door to Terri’s for our out of town guests at a special rate. Expected presenters, clinicians, and speakers include keynote speaker Kerry Coombs, Head Football Coach at Colerein High School in Cincinnati. Officials as clinicians are from the Northern Kentucky Officials Association, Kentuckiana Football Officials Association, the Big East Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, and the Mid-South Conference. A detailed listing of presenters will be announced within the next week. This clinic, geared to five man mechanics and football officiating philosophy, will be slightly different than the previous two years in the sense that after a keynote address, the majority of training opportunities will be in small group break outs and then hands on stations basically by position using the classroom and gymnasium space of the school. A more detailed schedule of topics will be released within the next week as presenters and clinicians are finalized.
