DEA Gets Off to a Rough Start as They Fall to Stoneham 5-0

Posted by Dale Dubois on Aug 29 2007 at 05:00PM PDT

It is simple.  Show up with numbers and ready to play.  DEA did neither of these on Sunday morning and found themselves on the bad side of a 5-0 whooping by Stoneham to open the fall season.  Stoneham picked up some new players for the fall and showed up 30 minutes early to warm up.  On the other side, DEA showed up at 5 minutes before the whistle with bearly 11 players.  Eleven is all they would get for the duration of the game also and it would show in the fitness level.

Not much good to say about this one.  Just chaulk it up to a learning experience and get back to winning.  DEA did see a new keeper, Chris Harrington, who did a fine job despite the lob sided score.  None of the goals were errors on Harrington's fault and he is a welcome addition in the absence of long time standout Lucas Hill, who is out on the DL and Chris Cloutier, who was hiking around Alaska.

DEA is off this Sunday but gets back to work on September 9th with another home game against Ipswich.  Jerold and Ryan are in charge of coordinating the 3rd half cook out.  Game time is 8:30 AM..... Please be at the field at 8:00 AM to warm up.
