Darvin got involved with Girls Fastpitch as many Dad's do by taking on the coaching of his daughter, Alina's, youth Fastpitch teams.
After coaching & playing for his own team, "the Eliminators" for over 20 years, he teamed up with one of his players, Greg Courdy, to coach his Santa Rosa Girls Softball teams for 6 years. (2007-2012). During that time their teams went on to win more then 86% of their games, 3 League Championships, 2 Tournament Championships and 1 Sonoma County All-stars Championship.
During that time he also coached the Redwood Empire RugRats, (2010) & Santa Rosa Victory, (2011-2013). Those teams went to 2 ASA Western Nationals & won 8 Tournament Championships.
While his daughter, Alina was playing for the Analy High School Tigers she was playing for her Schools coach , Nick Houtz who was coaching the Cal Impact Gold and the Nor Cal Renegades. Darvin took on the Coaching for the Nor Cal Renegades ( 2014-Current) where he coaches with his long time coach/friend Greg Courdy.
In the off season Darvin & his wife Nicky enjoy traveling to see Alina play for the Cal Poly (SLO) Mustangs where she is in her second year as a Food Science Major. Their son, Dalton will be playing Freshman baseball for the Analy Tigers this season. By the way Darvin has been coaching Dalton's teams for the last several years too.
