Jets 2010 JV Come Up Less Than A Yard Short!

Posted by Dave Rea on Nov 10 2010 at 04:00PM PST
The JV Jets made their second appearance in a Championship game on November 6th on Steingass Field at Buckeye. They took a 7-2 Record into the game against a Brunswick Jets JV team who came in at unbeaten and unscored upon with a 9-0 record. They came out firing all game and held their own playing the dazed and confused Brunswick Jets to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation. They had twice gotten inside the 5 on long runs only to have them called back on holding penalities.

The Jets won the toss in overtime and got the ball first on the 20. On a fourth down play they came up less than a yard short of scoring and had to turn the ball over to the other team. The Brunswick Jets got a score on 3rd down and that was the ball game 6-0. This was a great football game to watch as both teams struggled all game to get the upper hand, it was what a Championship Game should be about.

The Jets have made the playoffs 4 of the 6 years that there have been playoffs and have now finished Runner Up twice, the first time back in 2006. Congratulations to the Players, Coaches, Cheerleaders and Parents on a great 2010 Season! Go Jets!!
