Nats Split with Addison Braves

In game one the West Allis Nationals lost the lead late in a 3-1 defeat to Addison Braves on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Addison Braves batting in the top of the sixth when Luke Lucchetti doubled off of Nick McLees, driving in two runs. The pitching was strong on both sides. Addison Braves pitchers struck out three, while West Allis Nationals sat down nine In the bottom of the fifth inning, West Allis Nationals tied things up at one. An error scored one run for West Allis Nationals. Chris Wido earned the win for Addison Braves. He threw seven innings, allowing one run, seven hits, and striking out three. Nick McLees took the loss for West Allis Nationals. He went seven innings, allowing three runs, six hits, striking out nine, and walking zero. West Allis Nationals collected seven hits. Evan Spry and Jonah Meidl each collected multiple hits for West Allis Nationals. Meidl and Spry each collected two hits to lead West Allis Nationals. In game two the West Allis Nationals defeated Addison Braves 9-6 thanks to a strong start. West Allis Nationals scored on a single by Evan Spry and a single by Kyle Kalkopf in the first inning. West Allis Nationals earned the victory despite allowing Addison Braves to score four runs in the sixth inning. Addison Braves's big inning was driven by a single by John Zielinski and a single by Luke Lucchetti. Addison Braves took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Lucchetti drove in one run when he singled. West Allis Nationals took the lead for good with four runs in the first inning. In the first Evan Spry singled off of Alex Cardoza, driving in two runs and Kyle Kalkopf singled off of Cardoza, driving in two runs. West Allis Nationals scored five runs in the fifth inning. West Allis Nationals scored on a double by Brian Huntzinger, a single by Spry, and a single by Curt Pryal. Addison Braves scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Addison Braves came thanks to a single by Zielinski and a single by Lucchetti. Tom Starck earned the win for West Allis Nationals. He pitched five and a third innings, giving up six runs, 12 hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Cardoza took the loss for Addison Braves. He tossed four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs, six hits, and striking out three. West Allis Nationals had nine hits in the game. Huntzinger and Spry each collected multiple hits for West Allis Nationals. Spry and Huntzinger each drove in three runs to lead West Allis Nationals. Addison Braves collected 13 hits. Lucchetti, Tyler Zunkel, Tyler Behrendt, Kevin Cronin, and Zielinski each collected multiple hits for Addison Braves. Lucchetti led Addison Braves with three runs batted in. He went 3-for-4 on the day.
