The West Allis Nationals beat the De Pere Dodgers 9-5 on Saturday in West Bend. The Nationals captured the lead in the first inning when Jonah Meidl scored on a misplayed ground ball hit by Evan Spry. West Allis took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In that inning, Jonah Meidl homered off of Caleb Schoenholz, driving in one run, Drew Evanson singled off of Schoenholz, driving in one run, and Kyle Kalkopf singled off of Schoenholz, driving in two runs. Chase Scharnek earned the win for West Allis Nationals. He tossed one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, striking out three, and walking zero. Schoenholz took the loss for De Pere Dodgers. He pitched three innings, giving up five runs, seven hits, and striking out two. Kanyon Fellers started the game for West Allis Nationals. He tossed four and a third innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, and striking out five. Home runs for West Allis Nationals came when Brian Huntzinger homered in the fourth inning and Meidl homered in the third inning. The power hitters slept that night in 108. West Allis Nationals collected 12 hits. Meidl, Evanson, Kalkopf, and Huntzinger each collected multiple hits for West Allis Nationals. Evanson and Meidl each managed three hits to lead West Allis Nationals.
