The Topper train kept rolling at the Walsh Jesuit Pat Richie Invitational with both the JV and varsity squads capturing team titles.

Morgan Fisher led the Red & Black parade with an individual win in the JV race, followed closely by Mel Yoger (2nd), Cantrelle Williams (PR-3rd), and Meghan Martin (PR-4th). Sophia Ku closed out the scoring in 20th to give the Toppers a comfortable 49-point cushion in the 15 team race. Kara Connolly (SB) and Gabby Cross (PR) filled out the victorious squad.

The varsity race featured a 1-2-3 finish by Denali Selent, Andi Mann, and Bri Nieset. Lilli Livengood (7th) and Molly Greene (20th) capped the scoring as the Toppers’ 33 points was 51 fewer than the closest pursuer in the 11-team field. Katie Snyder, Mila Stropkay, and Maria Peters filled out the winning team.

The open race had Haleigh Redmond notching a SB time while Ann Marie Evans knocked 1:43 off her PR. Olivia White and Allison Sutton returned from Injuries and ran their first races of the season.

In week #2 of the season, the Chardon crew stepped up the level of competition at the Kenston Frank Gibas Invitational. The result was the same as the Hilltoppers won by a 69-86 margin over Massillon Jackson and the rest of the 23-team field. Denali Selent, Bri Nieset, and Andi Mann finished 3-8-9 to lead the charge up front. Lilli Livengood (19) and Molly Greene (30) closed out the scoring while Katie Snyder (35) and Maria Peters (41) filled the displacers’ roles. Mila Stropkay (43), Morgan Fisher (46), and Mel Yoger (57) gave the Toppers plenty more firepower as well.

In the open race, Sophia Ku led the way in 3rd place. Cantrelle Williams also brought home an award for her 20th place finish. Overall, the Toppers recorded 6 PRs and 9 SBs on the day.

On a pleasantly overcast morning, the Lady Hilltoppers used a strong 3-5-6 punch and superior depth to bring home the team title from the first annual Hawken Invitational. The Black & Red scored 41 points to Shaker’s 48. Hawken was a somewhat distant 3rd with 79.

Andi Mann, Bri Nieset, and Denali Selent took care of the work up front while Lilli Livengood and Molly Greene gave the Toppers 5 runners in the top 16. There was a strong pack acting as a supporting cast with Katie Snyder, Mel Yoger, Morgan Fisher, and Mila Stropkay finishing between 20th and 33rd in the 131-finisher race.
