The 8th grade boys soccer team had a very successful season this year. The team had so much chemistry due to each individual’s excellent character, good nature and love for the game of soccer. This team demonstrated quite a bit of skill, pace and camaraderie on the pitch. Each player had his teammate’s back and trusted in one another.

The team exemplified poise and persistence along the way as many of our players battled injury through the middle of the season. We were able to overcome these injuries and continued to bond through shared adversity. Including our playoff run to the semifinals, the team finished with a record of 9-4-1. Congratulations on a great season!

We have had a very successful 2015 season! Our current record is 6-0-1, with a conference record of 4-0-0. I cannot say enough about our team’s chemistry and the way that the boys genuinely care about one another. There is a lot of talent on the pitch, and I am often inspired as I watch these young men play. In seven regulation matches, our team has scored 40 goals and allowed only 8 goals. Our defense has also recorded 3 shutouts thus far. We are looking forward to the second half of our season in 2016.

The soccer competition is always fierce within the Houston Junior Preparatory Conference (HJPC), but the 8th grade Viking boys’ soccer team is ready for the challenge. This team is looking forward to the season as it has retained most of its core players after a near-perfect season last year that also included a tournament victory.

Coach Collin Wolfe is entering his third season as the head of the 8th grade boys’ soccer team. In the two years prior as head coach, Wolfe led his team to the HJPC Championship game, falling 2-0 in 2014 and 2-1 in 2015. Wolfe is confident in his team’s ability on the pitch and loves the chemistry that he already sees forming between the players.

The 8th grade Viking boys’ are excited about the new season starting on a new turf pitch under the lights. We hope to see many familiar faces in the stands cheering them on throughout the season. Go Vikings!
