The Village School 7th grade team is excited to start the 2016-17 season. The team will be under command of Coach Kenneth Apande. Kenneth brings a collaboration of different sports experiences from the high school level to the professional level. He grew up around a soccer family and soccer coaching experience comes from coaching at the Village and Clear Lake HS.

They will be holding practices throughout the week to prepare for the first game/tournament of the season on Saturday 11/5. The 7th grade Team will have a full roster this year with 22 athletes. Team captains will be Juan S, Stijn S, and Ralph S E.

The goal this year is to focus on the development of all the athletes and prepare them for the next level. Hopefully with hard work and determination they will have a successful season. Come support your Village Vikings!

The 7th Grade Boy’s Soccer Team had a phenomenal 2015-16 season. With our over record being 10-1-1 and winning 1st place in the ROBS tournament, there were so many great highlights that we all shared and enjoyed. I want to say thank you to all students, parents, administrators, trainers, and faculty that helped make this season special.

While the team had a good win-loss record, the games of this past winter will eventually fade into distant memories. In the end, the measures of success are not the statistics or wins, rather, they are the friendships, lessons and maturing that are the result of effort, selfless commitment to the team and dedication. These guys were truly Champions. As a coach, I am fortunate to have been a part of it.

Over the weekend, the 7th grade boys soccer team competed in the River Oaks Baptist soccer tournament. In the first round of the tournament, the boys played against Western Academy, beating them 4-2. That victory would set up a semi-final match against Kinkaid. In a closely contested, high quality match, the Vikings were victorious, winning 1-0! This victory secured the Vikings a spot in the finals where they would take on the host team, River Oaks Baptist. With the championship on the line, the Vikings played their cleanest game of the tournament, beating ROB 3-0! The Vikings were able to keep a clean sheet, and displayed wonderful teamwork and skill. The boys were led by outstanding play from Dave O, offensive standouts, Gerardo and Julien, defensive standout, Cornelius, and the hard working contributions from Samy and Alfredo! Congratulations to our boys!
