Kyle Chapman's 14-year old team defeated a good Brazos Valley team 6-1 on Saturday to advance in the District 1 double elimination tournament in Magnolia. The strong KC pitching of Ross Haggard and Eddrick Gilmore shut down the few opportunities Magnolia had to score. The lone run Brazos Valley scored was unearned. Haggard pitched the first five innings striking out 7 batters and Gilmore pitched the last two innings striking out 3. The duo limited Brazos Valley to only 3 hits while KC collected 11 hits.
