UPPER PERK BRAVES 33RD ANNUAL FOLKSTYLE
OPEN & NOVICE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT
DATE: Saturday, February 21, 2015
LOCATION: Upper Perkiomen High School 2 Walt Road Pennsburg Pennsylvania 18073
TIME: Doors will open at 6:30 am.
Split session start: NOVICE wrestlers must be checked in by 7:15 am and will start wrestling at 8:00 am.
OPEN wrestling will start promptly at 11:30 am.
WEIGH-IN: NOVICE: No weigh-in! Honor system! Submit Wrestler’s Actual Weight! Novice must check-in day of tournament
OPEN: Thursday February 19, 2015 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Upper Perkiomen High School
Friday February 20, 2015 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Upper Perkiomen High School (No weight changes)
Saturday February 21, 2015 7:30 am to 8:30 am at Upper Perkiomen High School (No weight changes)
ENRTY FEE: $27.00 per individual wrestler (non-refundable)
$24.00 per wrestler when signing up as a team with 10 or more wrestlers (non-refundable)

Individual On-line registration will close on Saturday February 14, 2015.
Team registrations please email upperperkwrestlingtournament@gmail.com for electronic form. All team
registrations MUST complete supplied ELECTRONIC team form. Team registrations (COMPLETED
ELECTRONIC TEAM FORM & CHECK) must be received by Thursday February 12, 2015.
RULES: Modified PIAA Rules & PIAA Certified Referees will be used.
Headgear and singlets mandatory.
Bout length: 1-1-1. Overtime: 1 Minute Sudden Victory. 2-30 Second Periods. 30 Second Tie Break.
Wrestlers must be of age in division they are competing on day of tournament.
Wrestlers may enter more than one division, but no guaranteed rest time and you must pay separate entry fees.
Challenges will be at the discretion of the tournament directors. Must have birth certificate present upon request and
will be required by both parties involved in challenge process!
6 Mats will be used all day.
All decisions made by tournament directors are final!
NOVICE First and Second year wrestlers only! Wrestlers who have placed 1st thru 3rd in any open tournament, regardless of
DETAILS: of being a first or second year wrestler, are not eligible for the novice tournament! This is strictly for novice caliber
wrestlers!
First 200 paid wrestlers will be entered. Madison bracketing will be used to comprise 4, 5, & 6 Man Round Robin
brackets. Wrestlers will be grouped by age, closest weight, and # years of experience.
Wrestlers must be within 2 pounds of the weight submitted on registration form if challenged.
NOVICE DIVISIONS: Pee Wee (6 & Under), Bantam (8 & Under), Midget (10 & Under)
NOVICE AWARDS: Our famous 4inch Olympic Style Medals will be awarded to each place finisher in each class
in each division. Every NOVICE wrestler will receive a medal!
OPEN First 300 paid wrestlers will be entered. Wrestlers will be seeded by # years of experience & 2014-2015 record.
DETAILS: Double elimination tournament for bracketed weight classes. We reserve the right to combine weight classes with 3
or less wrestlers and/or round robin weight classes with 5 or less wrestlers.
OPEN DIVISIONS & WEIGHT CLASSES:
Bantam (8 & Under): 48, 52, 56, 60, 66, 72, 80, 90, HWT (110 MAX)
Midget (10 & Under): 56, 60, 64, 70, 76, 84, 92, 100, 110, HWT (130 MAX)
Junior (12 & Under): 66, 72, 78, 84, 90, 98, 106, 115, 130, HWT (150 MAX)
Junior High (7th thru 9th Grade): No High School Experience Allowed!
80, 86, 92, 98, 106, 115, 125, 135, 150, 165, HWT (190 MAX)
OPEN AWARDS: Our famous Raising Fist Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers in each weight
class in each division.
ADMISSION: Coaches/Adults $5.00 Students $2.00 (No charge to wrestlers and students 6 & Under)

CONCESSIONS: Food will be served all day starting at 7:00 am. T-Shirts and Wrestling Gear will be available for purchase.
WAIVER: Wrestlers are entered at their own risk. Wrestlers, Wrestler’s Parent/Guardian/ Coach agree to not hold liable the
UPHS and/or their Staff, UPTC, Tournament Officials, Referees, Coaches, Volunteers, or Any Person associated
with this Tournament, for any injuries or losses, during and/or in transit to or from this Tournament.
