Score Keeping Clinics

Would you like to help out your team by keeping score during games, but would like to have a lesson before taking on that role?

If so, (VMBA members only), please come to the VMBA's  score keeping clinic on Wednesday  April 18th, offered by Vince Lee.  There will be a session focused on Tadpole games followed by a session for Mosquito/Peewee/Bantam scorekeeping.

  - Tadpole from 6:30 - 7:30 pm

  - Mosquito and older starting at 7:45 pm

Meet at the lower storage area (the building where the washrooms are).   

Please bring the following items:

  -          Tadpoles – Pencil, Eraser and Red Pen

  -          Mosquitos (and Pee Wee and Bantam) – Pencil, Eraser, Red and Blue Pen and highlighter.

Opening Day Time Line

Opening Ceremonies April 14th 2011: (brief outline)

Pancake Breakfast starting 8:30am

 Players line up time 10:40 am outside the PW Diamond (1st base side) and run on in a set order from the smallest age group, to the largest age group , The Midget's will accompany the Blastball players on.

Team names will be posted on the fence, players must wait there.

Introductions of executive members, park volunteers and then special guest introductions all enter the same way.

 Music to be played. Then oh Canada would be sung. (Everyone turns to the flags).

Presentations- Toonie Toss explanations.

Then the opening ball would be thrown and softly hit and the season would be declared open.

Everyone will be thanked for coming. Music to be played. Then music will continue to play as everyone leaves the diamond.

After the ceremonies everyone will go to the scoreboard for a group picture.

Over Aprox 12:30pm

Welcome one and all to VMBA. My hope is that everyone have lots of fun this season!!!!!!!!!! Mary McCann President Vancouver Minor Baseball.

Evaluation Spring 2012

VMB Spring 2012 * Player Evaluations

Our first team player evaluations will be held on Saturday February 25th. Pee Wee and Mosquito divisions will be held at the Fraserview Boys and Girls club (7595 Victoria Drive).

Midget and Bantam divisions will be held at Nanaimo Park. Additional evaluations will be held at Nanaimo Park (Nanaimo & 46th Ave) at the times listed below.

The purpose of the evaluations is to ensure we have balanced teams. All players will be placed on a team.

Your child must wear an athletic support and bring a baseball glove and batting helmet. Please bring both running shoes and cleats (optional) to the Boys and Girls club. Cleats can be worn at Nanaimo Park. Bats will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own.

If it is raining, evaluations may be rescheduled. If you are not sure, drive to the park or call the park information line at 
604.327.2828 for updated information.All players must be registered before taking the field. Any player not living in the boundaries of VMB must see the registrar first, as you may need to get a release form from your local association. Our boundary is east of Fraser St, west of Boundary Road, north of the Fraser River and South of Burrard Inlet.

Note: Pee Wee AA tryouts are separate from the regular evaluations. These players may, if they chose to, also attend the regular Pee Wee evaluations.

If you know a player that wants to play, bring them with you to evaluations. We can register them there.

Attach your child’s evaluation number using

white cloth or duct tape to the back of his/her

shirt or jacket. Their evaluation number will be

the last two digits of their birth year, plus their

player ID. (eg: 01-4113)
