VMBA has been given an amazing opportunity…
It is with great pleasure to announce a new Gold Level Sponsor to our association, The Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 44 (1410 Kootenay Street). Upon our many talks with regards to this sponsorship an opportunity was put upon VMBA members for us to give back as well.The Royal Canadian Legions organize all the Poppy Tagging (distribution of Poppy’s at various locations). As you know, veterans, cadets (and Legion volunteers) are normally the only volunteers who get this opportunity but they have been struggling with getting to all the locations. So now they have turned to us to ask for help with the poppy distribution.What better way to say THANK YOU to The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 44) for their Gold Level Sponsorship but more importantly to all our veterans who fought for their freedom and ours!They are asking for our boys and girls to be in uniform (VMBA Summer or Fall Ball shirts will work – hat included) and to have a parent close-by. They can be in groups of two. The distribution of the poppy’s (by minors) is only done between 10:00am -6:00pm and they usually prefer that you volunteer for four 2 hours shift or two 4 hour shifts. But really they will take whatever hours you can spare.Lucky for us, the location they have given us is Champlain Mall (54th & Kerr). Perfect location for most of our players.
