Motor City Madness 98 Fastpitch Team Honored at USSSA Banquet

The Novi-based Motor City Madness 98 fastpitch softball team was recently
honored as the USSSA 2012 Michigan Team of the Year for winning the
USSSA 13U Fastpitch Softball World Series in Maumee, OH. The team
received their award at the USSSA’s 2013 Banquet in Sterling Heights on
March 23rd. Motor City Madness 98 also had a number of other top USSSA finishes, including the Michigan Pride June tournament (1st place – 14U), Smashing Pumpkins tournament in Ohio (2nd – 14U), USSSA 14U Class A States (2nd), and the Motor City Madness Spring tournament (1st
– 14U). The team finished the 2012 season with the third highest USSSA
power ranking in the nation for their age division. The Motor City
Madness 98 team was only the second team from Michigan to win a USSSA
Fastpitch World Series.
Team members were Madyson Ampe, Aziza Afzal, Nicole Ireland, Sydney San Juan, Genny Soltesz, Kaitlyn Wolschlager, Isabella Buttazzoni, Shirley Hao, Nicole Rinkel, and Sydney Jascoe. The team was coached by Scott Ampe, with assistant coaches Adam San Juan, Chris Soltesz and Brian Wolschlager.
