2014 Penguins Cup A Finals – Quaker Valley 8 Thomas Jefferson 2
? Pennsylvania Championship History – Quaker Valley has won Pennsylvania High School Hockey Championships in 2006 and 2012 to go with Penguins Cups in 2008 and 2013. Thomas Jefferson won three consecutive Pennsylvania High School Hockey AA Championships in 1998 over Unionville, 1999 over LaSalle and 2000 over Archbishop Carroll
Consol Energy Center - Pittsburgh Quaker Valley won the 2013 Penguins Cup and fell short of its second consecutive State Championship against West Chester East 6-5 at Ice Works. The Quakers have vowed to win a 3rd Title in three years after their near death experience against Freeport 36 seconds short of elimination and rallying to score two goals in one of the great High School Hockey games in Pennsylvania History. The Thomas Jefferson Jaguars were very impressive in winning games against Westmont and Mars to return to the Penguins Cup final for the first time since 2007 (in Class AA) and first time in Class A.
After Tommy Kimmick gave the Jaguars the lead at 1:47 of the opening period, the Quakers. Remembering Freeport (PC SF) and West Chester East (2013 Pa States A) woke up like a child on Christmas Day and went to work as Connor Quinn scored twice and Scott Weston to seize a 3-1 lead after one. Quinn would rattle off three more in the second to extend the lead to 6-1 and Jimmy Perkins and Adam Stanley closed in out in the 3rd as QV scored 8 unanswered goals for an 8-2 Championship win for Quaker Valley’s 5th Penguins Cup in 9 years, third in a row and a shot at Pennsylvania High School Hockey Championship # 3 .
