2001-02 House Division Playoffs: Tournament Scoring

Posted by Terry Buczkowski on Feb 24 2002 at 04:00PM PST
2001-02 House Division Playoffs: Tournament Scoring (from STHA House VP Lisa Moore) Each team will play one another once in the playoffs The top 2 teams from that end of season playoff tournament will compete in a championship final game against each other,. The points system is 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss. In the event of a tie, it will be decided by the previous head to head playoff competition between those (2)teams, (for example if team 1 and team 2 are tied in points in the end to make it into the championship then the team that won when they played each other in the playoffs would be the team to advance.) If that(head to head game) had also been a tie, then it would go to PLAYOFF Tournament Points for vs Points against (for example, if in the end team 1 had 10 goals for, overall and 3 goals against they would have +7 points.....then if team 2 had 16 goals for and 7 against then they would have +9 points...this would advance team 2 ). In the championship, if the game ends in a tie, it will go to a 5 minute overtime....if still tied, a shootout will take place........5 players per team........If still tied, then it would go to the PLAYOFF Tournament Points for vs Points against scenario as previously explained.
