Jason Foreman drove a single to leftfield with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. inning to score Nathan Statzer with the Championship clinching run, as St. Johns-Lambros completed a 3-0 series sweep of a gallant South Hills team.
The Saints rallied from 6-0 and 7-1 deficits, to take a 9-7 lead into the ninth. South Hills rallied to tie the game and threatened to take the lead with bases loaded and 1 out. However, Jonathan Smith got a ground ball that Statzer turned into an inning ending double play.
Statzer cracked a one out double in the ninth. With two outs, Ricky Krist walked, which was followed by Foreman's RBI single.
Greg Stokes had 3 hits and 3 RBI, while Andy Blackwell, Foreman,
Rick Satcho, Jim Jaskowski, Nate Thimons, Mike Hermann, and Nate Statzer had 2 hits each.
Adam Hahn pitched into the 9th. inning, while Jonathan Smith picked up the victory.
