(Malden, MA)- Tim Dunphy (4-2) tossed six innings of shutout ball to lead the Chiefs to a 4-0 win over the Lexington Blue Sox on Monday night at Maplewood.

Dunphy (pictured) allowed just four hits, struck out three, and threw just 56 pitches on his way to picking up his fourth win of the campaign.

The Chiefs got all the runs they would need in the bottom of the first inning. Lexington starter Steve Bangs (3-1) struck out leadoff man Juan Parra but the third strike got by catcher Joe Auger and Parra advanced to first. Miles Reid and Parra then executed a perfect full count hit and run when Reid singled through the vacated second base hole with Parra taking third. Reid stole second before Teddy Dziuba delivered the Chiefs’ first run with an RBI groundout to first. When Andrew Caulfield followed with a single to center, scoring Reid, the Chiefs had a 2-0 lead.

The Chiefs doubled their lead in the bottom of the third. Ryan Noone led off with a single and scored when Joe Bova delivered his first homer of the year, a two-run shot to left-center for a 4-0 advantage.

Dunphy sailed through the next three frames, retiring the last eight batters he faced in a row.

Paul Frisoli came out of the bullpen to make his first appearance of the year to start the seventh inning. The righty set down the Lexington side in order to secure the Chiefs’ fourth straight win.
