Bulldogs Beat Chiefs in Extra Innings
(Lexington, MA) Ryan Boyle knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth, breaking a 9-9 tie, to give the Lexington Bulldogs a 10-9 win over the Chiefs on Thursday night in Lexington.
Chris Klein (pictured) led the Chiefs offense going 3-4 with a homer and four RBI’s. Juan Parra stayed hot at the plate with a 3-5 evening. Miles Reid had three hits and Ryan Noone and Luis Tejada each contributed two hits to the Chiefs’ 14 hit offense.
Jon Matos (0-1) worked the final three plus innings for the Chiefs and was tagged with the loss. Chiefs lefty starter Jonathan Richard pitched well in his four innings, allowing no earned runs and just two hits while striking out four. Cameron Breault spelled Richard in the fifth inning and the Bulldogs got to him for seven runs (four earned).
The 10-5 Chiefs return to action on Monday when they host the Sabertooth Expos at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.
