Melrose, MA- Leadoff man Juan Parra’s remarkable season continued, this time delivering a one out three run homer in the top of the seventh inning, to lead the Chiefs to a come of the mat 4-3 win over the Melrose Americans on Wednesday night at sticky Morelli Field.

The Chiefs staked starter Tim Dunphy to a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Parra (pictured) walked, went to third on a Tyler Ferdinand single, and came home on Teddy Dziuba’s sacrifice fly.

The Americans answered and took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second on RBI singles from Owen Duncan, Nick Giangregorio and Shawn Nestor.

It remained a 3-1 Melrose lead heading into the Chiefs’ last at bat against closer Bobby Tramomdozzi. Joe Bova got things started with a leadoff double and Chris Klein followed with a single to put two aboard with nobody out. Ttamdonozzi got Nick Valdario on an infield pop-up for the first out to set the stage for Parra’s one out dramatics.

A.J. Rourke worked out of a two man on, one out scenario in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win. Rourke (2-0) went the final 2.2 innings, in relief of Dunphy, allowing two hits and striking out three batters.

The 10-4 Chiefs will look to continue their winning ways when they pay a visit to the Bulldogs on Thursday in Lexington starting at 7:00 PM.
