Lexington- Veteran righty Ben Simon (Tufts), winner of eight games for the Blue Sox in 2005, took a perfect game into the fifth inning while his mates pounded out 11 hits and 11 runs on the way to a 11-0 whitewash of the Chiefs at Lexington on Sunday evening.

The Sox jumped on Chiefs starter and loser Mike Chandler for seven runs and six hits in 2.1 innings. Paul Bratton, Dean Corsi and Mark Blake also worked for the Chiefs in the loss.

Simon retired the first 13 Chiefs batters he faced before cleanup man Mike Andre broke up his perfect game bid with a single up the middle with one out in the fifth inning.

Steve Bodnar (Babson) and Rob Oteiri (Holy Cross) worked the sixth and seventh innings respectively for Lexington. A Rich Montecalvo sixth inning single off Bodnar and a Mike DiCato seventh inning single off Oteiri accounted for the Chiefs other two hits of the game.
