CHICAGO MARIST TRACK AND FIELD

On Sunday, March 19, 2006, the Varsity Women's Track and Field Team competed in the CPS Indoor Championships at Proviso West High School. Senior Maruja Yoshimura placed 3rd in the City Championships in the 3200m run with an outstanding time of 14:20. Yoshimura also placed 6th in the Mile with a time of 6:45. In the 4x800m Relay, the Varsity Women placed 4th in the City with a time of 11:22. Rachel Kittaka ran a 2:38.52 800m Split on the first leg of the 4x800m Relay, and made a nice exchange to Julie Shimada. Shimada ran a 3:04 800m split on the second leg of the relay. Julie Bujnowski ran a 3:03 800m split on the third leg of the relay. Freshman Anna Parks anchored the relay with an outstanding time of 2:37. In the 4x200m Relay, the Varsity Women ran a season's best 2:00.03. Jennifer Kane ran a 29.48 200m split and made the exchange to Maria Torres. Torres ran a 30.55 200m split on the second leg of the 4x200m Relay. Adoara Achufusi ran a personal best 30.87 200m split, on the third leg of the 4x200m Relay. Kelly Varney anchored the relay with a personal best 28.83 200m split. In the 800m run, Jennifer Noinaj ran a personal best time of 3:15. In the 4x400m Relay, Kelly Varney ran a personal best time of 66.99 on the first leg of the relay. Rachel Kittaka ran a 75.69 on the second leg of the 4x400m Relay. Maria Torres ran a personal best time of 76.16 on the third leg of the 4x400m relay. Freshman Anna Parks anchored the relay with an outstading time of 68.76, for a total time of 4:47.50.
