THE INSIDE REPORT:

Falcon Fastpitch open the 2007 season with a solid win over Seattle's Ballard HS. A talented team lead by All Kingco outfielder Leslie Ellingston.
The Falcons went down one nothing after two but bounced right back with one in the top half of the 3rd, when Maggie Wagner beat out a bunt stole 2nd then Devan McComb knocked her in with a base hit.
In the 4th Tobey Varney "smoked" one up the middle followed by base hits from Cacia Pierre & Lindsay Sullivan to score one run. Then Zoe Thiemann ripped a 1-1 fastball to left center for a double to score two more.
In the 6th Tobey led off again with a base hit, Sarah Hendry came in to run and got called out for leaving early, with a 3 run lead coach is wanting to be aggressive, Cacia grounded to third for the 2nd out. Then Lindsay & Zoe got base hits bringing Jamie Stivala to the plate who had an absolutely awesome AB working the count full fouling off 4 or 5 balls to get there, then ripped a double to left center to score both runners. Final score 6-1.
Tobey going the full 7 settled down with the lead and struck out 8 in the final 4 innings for a total of 11 K's 3 BB giving up just 1 earned run.
Both outfield and infield played error-less ball capped by some nice plays from 1st baseman Cacia Pierre and 2nd baseman Maggie Wagner. Both Ashley Tuiasosopo and Jamie Stivala were relentless in the OF catching everything their way.
Big game Friday against our closest neighbor Bothell. You don't want to miss this one!
