Sox Bats Electric

Posted by Michelle Raposo at Apr 23, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
TIVERTON-  The Amaral Electric Red Sox bats came alive and energized the team to back-to-back victories this week.  The Red Sox, let by the potent bats of TJ Mello, Chad Carreiro, Ethan Raposo, Christopher Perry and others surged to 12-9 and 14-9 wins over the Royals and Dodgers.TJ led the team with an electrifying display of power on Wednesday with a triple and Grand Slam home run to post an impressive 5 Runs-batted-in (RBIs).   Chad continued his on-base streak with back-to-back 3-hit nights, bringing his on base total to 9-for-9 this season. The Sox bats lit up the night, but it was the defense that continued to impress.   To a player everyone on the team continued to play  outstanding team defense, covering bases, backing up throws and working together to shut down the opposition.Adam Amaral, Chris, Ethan and TJ continue to provide the Sox with solid catching, and Raymond Barrett and Danny Lopes made solid pitching debuts this week.Matthew Parella, Hunter Cabral, Nolan and Logan Beattie and Steven Laquerre also contributed heavily to the two-game streak with plate discipline and solid defense. The Sox look to continue their winning ways next Tuesday, April 27th when they travel to Adamsville to battle the tough Tigers lineup.

Baseball Cartoon

Sunday, April 19th Red Sox v. White Sox

The Amaral Electric Red Sox opened the 2010 season with a difficult 8-0 loss to the White Sox, but while the result was disappointing, the effort was not.   The young Sox played solid defense in the Opening Day game and received excellent effort from all players.

TJ Mello was the first fireballer of the year and  retired the side in order in the first, while pitching two strong innings.   Adam Amaral, Chad Carreiro and Ethan Raposo pitched in relief.

The Red Sox offense piled up 6 hits and it was Nolan Beattie and Chad Cordeiro that led the way with a pair of hits each, while, Hunter Cabral, Steven Laquerre, Danny Lopes, TJ, Christopher Perry and Ethan all reached safely.

Adam and Ethan were solid behind the plate.

Final score 8 - 0
