Mentor Youth Hockey Booster Club is proud to announce the DENMARK U16 National Team will be making a stop in Mentor, OH. The DENMARK team will be continuing on to play in the World Cup held in Chicago, IL. Mentor Youth Hockey Booster Club has arranged an exhibition game to be played on October 19, 2005, at the Mentor Civic Rink. The rink is located at 8600 Munson Road in Mentor, OH. Admission is free and Opening Ceremonies will begin at 6:45 p.m. and the puck will drop at 7:15 p.m. The TOP 25 will perform the national anthem for both teams. This game will be against the DENMARK U16 vs Riverside High School Club team. The DENMARK team has been planning this trip for over 2 years with players and parents working hard to raise the funds. Erik Petersen, Head Coach DENMARK, told us “They (the players and parents) are exited about seeing how the Americans live and get their first taste of Hockey USA. We will see you in the autumn.” Both coaches have been talking and look forward to the event. Steve Wilson, Head Coach for Riverside stated “This game will be a wonderful, once in a lifetime opportunity for our team to play a team of this magnitude and whatever the outcome of the game, the experience itself is something these boys will remember for a very long time.” The Mentor Youth Hockey Booster Club would formally like to thank the players, coaches and parents of Riverside High School Club team for stepping forward to play the DENMARK U16 team, the TOP 25 for agreeing to perform the national anthems, and the parents of Riverside and Mentor Youth Hockey who have agreed to house the DENMARK team while they are in Mentor.
