Welcome to Silver Creek Little League's Umpiring Home Page. If you have any questions or comments email our Chief Umpire Tony Stepp,Jr.(Chiefumpire@silvercreekll.org) UMPIRE COMMITMENT - (please read) 1. I will attend all League-mandated Umpire meetings. 2. I will participate in various league functions: Opening Day Ceremonies, Fund Raising, Field Trip Days, promotions, clinics, training sessions, etc. 3. I will be responsible for the proper safeguarding and use of all league equipment, facilities, and uniforms. In my role as Umpire, I will be personally responsible for the return (or replacement) of all equipment and league property issued to me. 4. I will learn and abide by the rules of Little League Baseball/Softball and the applicable local league rules. I am willing to accept - as final - the decisions of the local league Board of Directors. 5. I will attend league, District 5, or Regional Clinics on umpiring, rules, first aid, and safety. 6. I will endeavor to learn more about the game (baseball or softball) and how to teach young people the correct manner in which to play the game. 7. I will work with league personnel to make players and parents aware of the concepts of teamwork, sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for one another; including the other team, umpires, and league officials. 8. I understand that the use of offensive language, consumption of alcoholic beverages, and smoking are strictly prohibited while representing or acting in any capacity, which may be associated with the league. Little League Umpire Registry

Umpires, don't forget to join the Umpire Registry. You will recieve the 2003 Baseball and Softball Rule books, the Umpire in Little League book, and The Right Call (Little League Casebook). You will also recieve the new Little League Umpires patch, a certificate stating that you are a member of the 2003 Umpire Registry, and the Fairball newsletter. The cost is only $15.

Protests & Complaints

SCLL President, Vice President, Chief Umpire, Coaching Coordinator, Division Vice President, and Player Agent shall sit on the Protest/Complaint Committee and shall decide on all Protests & Complaints -- The ruling of the committee shall be final. Plays that involve umpire judgement are not to be protested, only a decision by an umpire that is in conflict with the rules is allowed to be protested.
