NMB Cubs Win 11 Straight Games; Clinch 1st Place in Division

The Cubs, who got off to just a 0-1-2 start early in the season, have come roaring back with 11 straight wins to clinch first place in the NMB Majors division.

Pitchers Nico Zambrano, Alex Vallejo, Aron Flores, Adam Seif and Parker Yagman have combined for an incredible 2.46 team ERA. Helping with the defensive effort are infielders Henson Christian, Craig Campbell, Jean-Louis Navarro and Marc Faren plus outfielders Michael Talalaevsky, Daniel Mouyal and Sheldon Lloyd. The team's brilliant defense allowed only 61 runs in 14 games!

Aside from pitching and defense, the Cubs are also an offensive juggernaut with a league-leading 110 runs produced in 14 games. The next closest team in the division has produced just 83. Team batting leaders are:

  1. Alex Vallejo (.605, 5 HR's)
  2. Nico Zambrano (.538, 1 HR)
  3. Aron Flores (.481, 1 HR)
  4. Adam Seif (.452, 2 HR's)
  5. Henson Christian (.407, 1 HR)


Manager George Vallejo credits his team's outstanding coaches Rick Zambrano, Stanley Flores, Ivan Morales and Carlos Lora for making the Cubs into a TEAM of "never-say-die" ballplayers.

2016 Baseball Buddies Wrap Up- A Challenger League Program

We are very excited to share with you news of the successful return of Baseball Buddies, a program organized by North Miami Beach Little League (“NMBLL”). Baseball Buddies pairs experienced NMBLL players with youth who have special needs or haven’t had the confidence to participate in organized baseball in the past.

This program occurred on October 2, October 9, October 16, October 23, November 6 and November 13, with each session typically running 1.5-2 hours. We focused on skills, drills, and teaching the basics of the game of baseball. Also, we had informal game play in order to allow players to experience the thrill of participating in a team sport.

Every child was assigned a “buddy”, typically an 11-17 year old current or former member of NMBLL who loves baseball and wants to help others learn to love the game as well. Our goal is to accommodate every child if possible.

Thank you for all the players and buddies who participated this year. You have made our 2016 sessions our eighth successful year!

Baseball Buddies (Challenger League) Is Back for Seventh Season!

We are very excited to share with you the return of Baseball Buddies, a program organized by North Miami Beach Little League (“NMBLL”). Baseball Buddies pairs experienced NMBLL players with youth who have special needs or haven’t had the confidence to participate in NMBLL in the past. Participants must be between the ages of 4 to 18 (or 22 if enrolled in high school).
 
This program will occur over seven Sundays in the fall of 2015. We will be focusing on skills, drills, and teaching the basics of the game of baseball. Also, we will have informal game play in order to allow players to experience the thrill of participating in a team sport. The dates are still being confirmed but we hope to start on September 27th The sessions will typically be held at around 11am at Pelican Park in Sunny Isles or Ives Estates near Krop high school.
 
Every child will be assigned a “buddy”, typically an 11-17 year old current or former member of NMBLL who loves baseball and wants to help others learn to love the game as well. While we wish to welcome all children with special needs, due to the fact that the buddies will also be children, we ask parents to use their discretion as to whether their child can attend and take direction to participate. Our goal is to accommodate every child if possible. We also ask that an adult for each child attend every session.
 
If you are interested in having your child participate as a player or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at NMBbaseballbuddies@gmail.com. No child will be turned away due to the inability to pay.
 
We would love to have as many players as possible so please spread the word about our program. We can’t wait to see you on the field!
